City facilities will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 28 and 29, due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
The Nancy J. Brua Animal Care Center will also be closed on Saturday, Nov. 30, and will instead be open on Monday, Nov. 25, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. when the facility would typically be closed.
Thursday’s trash pickup will shift to Wednesday, Nov. 27, and there will be no special pickups on Wednesday. Friday’s trash pickup will be unaffected by the holiday.
Vista Transit will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 28 and 29. It will offer its Red Route running in town on Saturday, Nov. 30, but there will be no Brown Route serving Fort Huachuca that day.
The City Compost Facility will be closed on Thursday and Friday, and will resume normal hours on Saturday, Nov. 30. That means area residents can drop off their post-Thanksgiving cooking fat, oil, and grease to be turned into biodiesel fuel, instead of clogging up their pipes at home. The compost facility is located at 7201 E. Highway 90 by mile marker 324 and is typically open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. It hosts the City’s only fat, oil, and grease recycling drop-off site.
The Cove began its annual maintenance shutdown on Monday, Nov. 18, and will remain closed through Sunday, Jan. 5.
