Task force makes three DUI arrests in Super Bowl detail

The Southeastern Arizona DUI Task Force made three misdemeanor DUI arrests during a saturation detail conducted in the Sierra Vista area on Sunday, February 3, due to Super Bowl Sunday.

The detail was performed by the Sierra Vista Police Department, Tombstone Marshal’s Office, Arizona Department of Public Safety, Cochise County Sheriff’s Office, Bisbee Police Department, and Huachuca City Police Department. The detail resulted in the following: 138 traffic stops or contacts, 100 warnings or repair orders, nine civil speed citations, 13 miscellaneous civil citations, one underage possession of alcohol arrest, eight designated drivers, four seat belt citations, one child restraint violation citation, two possession of marijuana arrests, two possession of drug paraphernalia arrests, one probation violation warrant arrest, one extreme DUI arrest, and two DUI drugs arrests.

The blood alcohol content recorded on the extreme DUI arrest was 0.188, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08.
