Task force makes three DUI arrests in Rex Allen Days detail

The Southeastern Arizona DUI Task Force made three misdemeanor DUI arrests during a saturation detail conducted in Willcox on Saturday, Oct. 6, due to the Rex Allen Days weekend.

The detail was performed by the Sierra Vista Police Department and Willcox Police Department. In addition to the three misdemeanor DUI arrests, the detail resulted in the following: 78 stops or contacts, seven civil speed citations, two seatbelt citations, 43 miscellaneous civil citations, 18 miscellaneous criminal citations, and five designated drivers.

The average blood alcohol content of two of the misdemeanor DUI arrests was 0.095. The remaining misdemeanor DUI arrest was drug related and did not involve alcohol.

The task force officers also assisted Willcox Police Department patrol officers with an armed robbery incident at approximately 10:45 p.m. hours in the 700 block of North Bisbee Avenue. With the additional task force officers patrolling the streets, the scene was quickly secured and the suspect was located and arrested within minutes of the call.
