The Southeastern Arizona DUI Task Force made six DUI arrests during a saturation detail conducted in the Sierra Vista area on Sunday, Feb. 2, due to Super Bowl Sunday.

The detail was performed by the Sierra Vista Police Department, Tombstone Marshal’s Office, Bisbee Police Department, and Arizona Department of Public Safety. The detail resulted in the following: 102 traffic stops or contacts, 91 warnings or repair orders, three civil speed citations, three seat belt citations, eight miscellaneous civil citations, three designated drivers contacted, one aggravated DUI arrest, and five misdemeanor DUI arrests.

The average blood alcohol content on three of the six DUI arrests was 0.122. The two additional alcohol-related arrests, along with one DUI drugs arrest, required blood draws.

With the continuous support from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, the Southeastern Arizona DUI Task Force reminds drivers that if you choose to drive hammered, you will get nailed. Get a designated driver, not a DUI!
