With the confirmation of the first positive case of COVID-19 in Cochise County, the City of Sierra Vista is implementing Governor Ducey’s executive order to limit restaurant service to dine-out only and to close bars, gyms, and movie theaters.

The announcement comes on the heels of Governor Ducey’s Thursday announcement that restaurants in Arizona counties with confirmed COVID-19 cases may only provide dine-out options.  Additionally, bars, gyms, and movie theaters are required to close.

“We are in constant communications with the Arizona Department of Health and Safety, Governor’s office, and the Cochise County Health and Social Services Department to ensure that our practices are aligned with state and national guidelines,” says Mayor Rick Mueller.

Mueller will be signing the order by the close of business, Friday, March 20.  The local order becomes effective at 2:00 a.m. Saturday, March 21.
