Police arrest three suspects for Feb. 18, 2021, robberies

The Sierra Vista Police Department recently arrested three suspects for their involvement in two armed robberies that occurred on Feb. 18, 2021, after anonymous tips aided a joint investigation conducted with the assistance of the Benson Police Department.

SVPD officers responded to the first robbery at about 6:38 a.m. on Feb. 18, 2021, when a report was received of an armed robbery at the Circle K located at 97 N. Garden Ave. in Sierra Vista. A male and female had entered the store and brandished a knife to force the clerk to open the register and give them cash that was inside.

The same suspects committed a similar armed robbery using a knife at about 7:30 a.m. at Benson Donuts, located at 690 N. Ocotillo Road in Benson.

Sierra Vista Police Department Special Operations Bureau detectives received two separate anonymous tips identifying the male suspect. The new leads aided the investigation being conducted by Sierra Vista and Benson police, leading to the first arrest in the case.

Tucson resident Logan Martin, 18, was arrested on Dec. 29, 2021, in Tucson, and booked into the Cochise County Jail on charges of robbery, armed robbery, and aggravated robbery. Martin was 17 at the time of the robberies. Further investigation led to two additional arrests.

Vail resident Kira Hodges, 18, was arrested in Tucson on Jan.19. Hodges was booked into Cochise County Jail and charged with robbery, armed robbery, and aggravated robbery. Hodges was 17 at the time of the robberies.

Vail resident Taryn Green, 17, was arrested in Tucson on Jan. 21. She was booked into Cochise County Jail on charges of robbery, armed robbery, and aggravated robbery. Green was 16 at the time of the robberies. Green was identified as the driver of the getaway vehicle.

Martin and Hodges remain in custody at the Cochise County Jail on $75,000 bonds, which covers both robberies. Green had a $7,500 bond and was released on bond the day after her arrest. All three suspects are being charged as adults, despite being under the age of 18 at the time of the robberies.
