Sierra Vista residents are encouraged to drop off recyclable household waste at businesses and centers around the City. We’ve done our best to ensure accuracy and completeness of the this recycling list, but it’s always a good idea to call ahead.

Aluminum Cans

Sierra Vista Animal Control staff accepts clean, crushed aluminum cans to raise funds for sick and injured stray animals and other general shelter needs. Please remove the tabs from the cans; the tabs are also accepted once they are separated. Drop off your cans and tabs at the Nancy J. Brua Animal Care Center, located at 6799 E. Hwy 90, Tuesday-Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Call (520) 458-4151 to learn more.

Fat, Oil & Grease

Why: Recycle your household fat, oil, and grease instead of pouring it down the drain. It can build up in your pipes and cause costly sewer backups at home, in the street, and in the sanitary sewer system. Instead, collect fats, oils, and grease and recycle them.

How: Pour liquid animal fats, excess cooking oil, and cooking grease into a clean, dry container with a secure lid. Filter out any bits of debris from the grease by pouring it through a coffee filter or paper towel.

Where: After collecting your cooking fats, oils, and grease, secure the lid and take it to the City’s Compost Facility (7201 E. Highway 90 at mile post 324), Monday-Saturday, 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
