Since 1998, the Sierra Vista Police Department has an active and supportive volunteer program. Citizens with a wide range of experience, and expertise dedicate their time to the department and help further its mission by assisting in many bureaus, including Animal Control, Patrol, Records, Special Operations, and Evidence.

All volunteer applicants are subject to either a limited or full background investigation, depending on the position applied for.

Applicants must be living in the greater Sierra Vista area and be able to make at least a two-year commitment due to the time and cost to conduct background checks and train. Most positions require a 16 hour per month commitment.
