Every 10 years local residents are given an opportunity to shape the overarching plan that will guide Sierra Vista’s future growth and development. In 2024 the proposed Vista 2040 General Plan was not approved by local voters. Per state law, this means the City continues to operate under the previous General Plan, Vista 2030, and must develop a new General Plan update to bring back to voters in November 2026.

So, we are once again asking residents to offer their input as we prepare to update the Vista 2040 General Plan. Head to Engage.SierraVistaAZ.gov to review the plan, check out our new executive summary of the plan, and offer your input!
