The City of Sierra Vista, like many municipalities in the state, operates a municipal separate stormwater sewer system or MS4, which is designed to convey stormwater off the roads and into washes and rivers to prevent roads from flooding. The MS4 is a separate system from the wastewater sewer system, and the stormwater discharges from the MS4 receive no treatment prior to flowing into washes and rivers.

Contractors and property owners performing work in the City limits must ensure compliance with Chapter 95 of the City Code and prevent illegal discharges into the MS4 during construction. Please review Chapter 95 and the reference materials below:

If you are draining a pool for maintenance, you will need to apply for a pool drain permit.
