The next Sierra Vista City Council Election will be held at the General Election on November 3, 2026. Positions up for election include Mayor and four Council Member seats.

Due to a recent council resignation and appointment of that council seat, this election will fill four council seats instead of the usual three. Pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute §9-235, appointments are limited to the nearest general election.

Additionally, Sierra Vista City Code Chapter 30.21 provides a method for maintaining the stagger on council terms in which the highest three vote getters receive four-year terms while additional seats receive two-year terms.

Of the candidates running for the four council member seats in the 2026 General Election, the top three candidates will receive four-year terms ending December 31, 2030, while the fourth highest vote getter will be elected to a two-year term ending December 31, 2028.
