The Cove offers American Red Cross water safety classes taught by certified instructors. Classes are limited to four to six students per instructor, ensuring quality lessons with more personalized attention to each student. The American Red Cross program consists of swimming skills, including basic and competitive strokes, and water safety information at each level.
- Youth Swim lessons are geared towards children ages six months to 17 years old.
- Swim lesson evaluations are required prior to registration for children 8 and older.
- Lessons are $55 per child, which includes eight 30-minute classes.

Make a splash this Summer here at the Cove with our 2026 Youth Swim Lessons!
The Cove will be splashing into summer 2026 with youth swim lessons starting in June and going through July. Lessons will take place Monday – Thursday mornings over the course of 2 weeks per session offering a few different time options available for most classes.
Session A: June 1 – June 11
Session B: June 15 – June 26
* Skip Day June 25th due to Worlds Largest Swim Lesson (see details below)
* Makeup Day will be June 26th

World's Largest Swim Lesson
The Cove has partnered with the World's Largest Swim Lesson organization to help build awareness and generate local and national media attention about the vital importance of teaching kids to swim to help prevent drowning and improve quality of life. Swimming is a life-saving skill for children and a vital tool to prevent drowning. The program is supported by leading aquatics and safety organizations around the world and takes place at all types of aquatic facilities from huge water parks to public pools and swim schools.
This lesson will be a free 30-minute lesson for anyone that is interested in taking the lesson. You can register for this lesson on its own or you can add it on to session B when registering at no extra cost and attend an extra class the last week of lessons.
Session C: July 6 – July 16
Session D: July 20 – July 30

Swim Lesson Evaluation Requirements
- Youth aged 8 or older requires an evaluation prior to registration.
- Swim evaluations are not available the first day of registration, please complete an evaluation before registration day to ensure your child gets into the correct level for their skill.
- Levels 2 through 6 must have either an American Red Cross Certification card that verifies eligibility for the class you are enrolling for, or a swimming evaluation card completed by a Cove staff member prior to registration. Evaluations are done at the Cove Aquatic Center; no appointment is needed just show up during the days and times listed below.
Evaluation Days and Times:
Monday - Thursday from 4 - 8 pm and Fridays 4 - 5:30 pm.
Monday - Friday 8 am - Noon
Starting May 23rd evaluations will switch to:
Tuesday - Thursday 6 - 8pm
