Man arrested for molestation of a child

The Sierra Vista Police Department arrested a local man for molestation of a child on Tuesday after following up on a report from a member of the man’s family.

On Monday, Nov. 5, at about 8:35 p.m., the Sierra Vista Police Department received a report from a relative that a juvenile girl was being molested by another family member. The investigation was turned over to a detective with the department’s special operations bureau. Further investigation revealed that several incidents took place between April and September of 2018.

The Sierra Vista Police Department executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence, located in the 800 block of North Lenzner Avenue, on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at about 3:47 p.m. At that point, 41-year-old Sierra Vista resident Michael Harman was taken into custody without incident. Items relevant to the investigation were secured as evidence during the search.

Harman was booked into the Cochise County Jail on charges of molestation of a child and continuous sexual abuse of a child. He remains in custody without a bond.
