The Sierra Vista Police Department arrested a local man for child molestation on Tuesday, July 21, after receiving a report of an inappropriate relationship between a 23-year-old man and a juvenile.
The investigation began when the department received information from the mother of the juvenile. The mother reported that she was contacted by a neighbor after an unknown man was seen entering her apartment while the mother was at work.
SVPD detectives served a search warrant in the 700 block of S. Carmichael Avenue on July 15 and recovered evidence from the vehicle of 23-year-old Sierra Vista resident Andrew Courtney that was related to the investigation. Courtney was arrested on Tuesday and booked into the Cochise County Jail in Bisbee for one count of molestation of a child. He is being held on no bond.
