Library to forgive fines in the new year

The Sierra Vista Public Library will once again give patrons with overdue materials a chance to start the new year with a clean slate by taking advantage of its upcoming Fine Forgiveness Program.

The program begins Wednesday, Jan. 2, and continues through Wednesday, Jan. 9. During that week, anyone with overdue materials can return them and associated fines will be forgiven.

Even if a patron does not have any overdue materials but still has some unpaid fines, these will be forgiven if the patron requests it during the program. Any items that were lost, damaged, or stolen still must be paid for by the patron.

For more information about the Fine Forgiveness Program, call the library at (520) 458-4225 or stop by in person at 2600 E. Tacoma St.
