Explore, experiment, and improve skills through self-directed work. The fee includes use of studio equipment, bisque firing, glazes, and glaze firing. Participants may also bring their own tools. Each punch Pass is good for eight hours of studio time. Raku firings are available on occasion for an extra fee. Inquire at the studio for details. Please note that Open Lab is not an instructional class. Fees: $25 Punch Pass (good for 8 hours) $12 per 25 lb. bag of clay

The public is invited to get a close-up look at these tiny travelers as staff and volunteers from the Southeastern Arizona Bird Observatory capture, band, weigh, measure, and release them as part of long-term studies of the bird life of this vital migration route. Each Sunday morning, the Sierra Vista Environmental Operations Park (EOP) is open for bird walks. Local docents from Southeastern Arizona Bird Observatory and the Friends of the San Pedro river lead these walks. Since participation is limited, these walks are a first come, first served basis. The EOP is located  between mileage markers 324 and 325 on the north side of the highway. Depart from viewing platform. Admission is free. Donations are appreciated. More than 170 species of birds and 400 species of plants make their home in Ramsey Canyon Preserve and the surrounding national forest.
