The Public Works Department provides diverse--and critical--services to residents. Strongly committed to environmental responsible solutions, the Department works to provide quality and sustainable infrastructure for generations to come.

Trash & Compost

Refuse Truck

Providing refuse service to more than 13,000 residential customers in Sierra Vista and Fort Huachuca, and 600 commercial customers with twice weekly curbside collection. Sign up for trash service or learn more about the service, including special collections and dumpster rental.

Wastewater & Sewer

Wastewater Clarifier

Sierra Vista doesn’t have a municipal water supply, but it does treat all of the City’s wastewater. The aim of the Wastewater & Sewer division is to provide a safe water supply while protecting the area's precious natural assets. Learn more or to sign up for sewer service.


Airport terminal

The Sierra Vista Municipal Airport (FHU), a general aviation facility, shares runways with Libby Army Airfield and serves Southeastern Arizona. Learn more about the airport's master plan, leasing hangars and tie-down sites, ground services, flying into FHU, and more.


Streets Crew crack sealing

The Streets division is responsible for maintaining all City streets, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, drainage systems, and multi-use paths. They also ensure traffic control signals and street lights are working, mow public rights-of-way, stripe pavement, and install special street markings. Learn more.


Bus, pickup, car
Fleet Services provides maintenance service for all City vehicles, from semi trucks t0 buses, police cars to to fire trucks, and everything in between! The division also provides maintenance services to many outside agencies.


Road construction

The Engineering division oversees planing, design, and construction of the City's public infrastructure, as well as provides professional civil engineering support for all City departments.
