The Sierra Vista Police Department is hosting a series of educational and informational sessions on topics relevant to today's teen and young adult population. Called "Teen Talks," the sessions are geared for middle school- and high school-age teens. Parents are encouraged to also attend!

Surf Safely | Protecting Yourself from Online Predators

Hear from Sierra Vista Police Department detectives who work to stop child crime and learn how to protect yourself (and your children) on the Internet.

Detectives from the Sierra Vista Police Department will share real-life experiences a short video series, open discussion, and Q&A about the problems commonly seen in the online environment.

In addition to real-life stories, the topics covered include:

  • Friend or Fake
  • Teenage Profiles
  • Online Photographs
  • Sextortion

The subject matter is suitable for middle school-age youth and older. Parents are encouraged to participate with their children so that everyone has a better understanding of the many advantages and pitfalls that Internet access can provide.

Held in partnership with the Arizona Internet Crimes Against Children task force and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
