Request a Ride-Along or Observation

The Sierra Vista Police Department allows private citizens to go on a Police Ride-Along for up to four hours on any shift or Animal Control facility for up to two hours on any day or time.

Note: Due to COVID-19, public ride-alongs and observation periods have been temporarily suspended. Applicants in the hiring process may contact Lilly Perry at (520) 439-2370 to schedule a pre-employment ride-along.

If you are interested in a Ride-Along, first complete this waiver and deliver it to the Sierra Vista Police Department (911 N. Coronado Drive). You must be at least 14 years of age. Please allow a minimum of one week to process your waiver. After a week’s time has passed, you may call the Sierra Vista Police Department at (520) 452-7500, or use this online request form to schedule a ride-along time during one of these shifts:

Day shift: 0700-1700
Swing shift:  1400-2400
Mid shift: 2100-0700

Please allow a minimum of 48 hours to process your Ride-Along request. Please go to the Police Department lobby and check in at the reception desk for your scheduled Ride-Along. If your Ride-Along is scheduled outside of normal business hours and the reception desk is not open, please pick up the phone on the front counter to reach a dispatcher for assistance.
