The Commission was established as the Downtown Neighborhood Commission on October 24, 1996 by Resolution 3843. On February 28, 2008, the Commission was re-established as the West End Commission. On May 28, 2020, Resolution 2020-028 was approved that dissolved the West End Commission and re-established it as a City Department-affiliated nonregulatory Commission.
The purpose of the commission is to advice on the establishment of plans, policies and strategies relating to the revitalization and enhancement of properties on the west side of Sierra Vista.
