A Sierra Vista resident was arrested Friday evening for multiple child sex related crimes.

On Thursday, Aug. 6, the Southeast Arizona Communications Center (SEACOM) received a report from a mandated reporter at a local school regarding an alleged child molestation that occurred at a private residence. The report was not related to any incident at the school, nor did it involve any school employee. Officers responded to the school, spoke to the employee who reported the alleged crimes, and arranged for child forensic interviews with several children believed to be aware of the incidents.

Then on Friday, Aug. 7, after the interviews, officers and detectives from the Sierra Vista Police Department Special Operations Bureau secured additional evidence, including texts messages on a digital device of the victim. Officers secured a search warrant for a Sierra Vista residence and arrested the suspect. Numerous items containing further digital evidence were secured. 

The suspect was arrested and booked into the Cochise County Jail for sexual assault, sexual conduct with a minor, child molestation, aggravated luring of a minor for sexual conduct, and luring a minor. All of the charges allege a dangerous crime against children as outlined in ARS 13-705.
