City of Sierra Vista parks and recreational facilities have been cleared and reopened after access was restricted following a bomb threat received this morning.

At about 8:40 a.m., an employee from the Oscar Yrun Community Center called SEACOM, the regional dispatch center, to report that they received a called in bomb threat for an undisclosed park. To ensure safety of the community, City parks and recreational facilities were closed to the public and residents were advised to avoid these areas. Fort Huachuca explosives-trained K9s were contacted to assist with investigating.

All City parks and facilities have now been cleared and reopened. There is no apparent threat to the public at this time. SVPD continues to investigate the source of this threat and several other bomb threats made last week.
