The City is seeking nominations for Sierra Vista businesses to receive special recognition before the Sierra Vista City Council as part of an awards program by the City’s Economic Development Commission.
The commission will review the nominations and select awardees annually for each of the following categories:
- Minority-Owned Business of the Year
- Woman-Owned Business of the Year
- Veteran-Owned Business of the Year
- Small Business of the Year
“Small businesses are the lifeblood of rural communities like ours,” Sierra Vista Business Liaison Dianna Cameron says. “We’re proud to recognize the dedication, achievements, contributions, and value they provide.”
To be considered for recognition, nominations for all categories must be received by Friday, July 24. Eligible businesses must be located in the City of Sierra Vista, have an active City business license, and be a for-profit business in good standing (with no outstanding taxes or fees). Residents are encouraged to nominate for all categories that the business represents.
The selected awardees will be presented with a certificate following a short presentation at the City Council meeting scheduled closest to the designated recognition week. They will also be featured in a business spotlight article shared on the City’s website, in the City’s weekly email newsletter, and on social media.
