The Sierra Vista Police Department arrested a juvenile today for multiple charges after a vehicle burglary was reported shortly after midnight.
At about 12:30 a.m. today, SVPD officers responded to a report of a vehicle burglary in the 2200 block of Las Brisas Way. The victim reported that they believed someone was trying to break into their car. During the investigation, officers discovered two other vehicles in the area of the 1400 block of Carmelita Drive and 800 block of Lenzner Avenue that were also damaged.
With the assistance of the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office, SVPD arrested a juvenile for three counts of vehicle burglary, one count of possession of burglary tools, one count of felony criminal damage, and one count of underage possession of marijuana.
No surveillance video was used to identify and capture the suspect. Since the suspect is a juvenile, no photo or identification will be released at this time.
There is no indication that these incidents are related to separate vehicle burglaries reported on Saturday, Jan. 31, and Monday, Feb. 2. An arrest has been made in connection to the Feb. 2 case and more information will be shared in a future press release once it can be made available. All three cases are still active investigations and anyone with information is encouraged to contact SVPD.
