On Wednesday, Jan. 28, the Sierra Vista Police Department arrested a suspect in multiple drive-by shooting incidents targeting a single residence.
On Tuesday, Jan. 27, at about 9 p.m., Sierra Vista police officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 1100 block of Taylor Drive. The victims reported hearing loud noises resembling gunshots on three separate occasions throughout that day near their residence.
During the initial investigation, officers and detectives located bullet holes in the home. The victims also identified a possible suspect and described a silver hatchback vehicle believed to be associated with the incident.
Then on Wednesday, at about 7 p.m., SVPD and Cochise County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Teams executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence in the 600 block of Avenida Escuela. All individuals in the residence complied with law enforcement and were detained without incident.
As a result of further investigation, one male subject was arrested on three counts each of aggravated assault, drive-by shooting, and discharging a firearm at a structure and booked into the Cochise County Jail.
