Hummingbird Hunt Trip

$30 per person | All ages welcome with accompanying adults

Sierra Vista is the Hummingbird Capital of Arizona, and more hummingbirds can be seen here than anywhere else in the United States, so what better place to hunt for hummingbirds? This trip is a joint venture between the City of Sierra Vista and Southwest Wings Birding and Nature Festival. We’ll travel to Ramsey Canyon and Ash Canyon Sanctuary, and the trip will involve getting in and out of a van, walking on some easy walking trails for short distances, and sitting quietly at times to observe the birds in their natural habitat and at designated feeder stations.

This exciting trip is led by Kristy Gallo from Southwest Wings and is a great introductory trip for beginners. This is a birding and wildlife viewing activity, so it is important participants bring binoculars to fully experience this activity and avoid disappointment. The Sierra Vista Public Library has binoculars available to check out. You can also purchase your own binoculars at any of the retail stores here in Sierra Vista. Water, snacks, and a Subway box lunch including a sub, chips, and cookie will be provided for this tour. 7:30 a.m. check-in at the EBC.

REGISTRATION closes July 24, 2026.
Register in person at the Ethel H. Berger Center, by calling (520) 417-6980, or online at WebTrac.SierraVistaAZ.gov
