“Whitewater Draw is famous for its wintering Sandhill Cranes. Tens of thousands of Sandhill Cranes spend the winter in the Sulphur Springs Valley and there is no better place for viewing them than Whitewater Draw. They feed in the nearby fields and come to Whitewater as a safe place to roost. These magnificent birds arrive each from late morning, giving their haunting calls as they descend from the sky. Many other waterfowls can be seen here, including Snow and Ross’s Geese. (Just a few of the latter). Northern Pintail, Northern Shoveler and Cinnamon and Green-winged Teals are just a few of the large numbers of ducks which also spend the winter there. Join Southwest Wings expert birding guides, Gordon and Lori Lam, to witness this amazing spectacle. “ Registration starts Jan 12 and will run through close of business February 13 or until trip is sold out, whichever occurs first.
