Sierra Vista, AZ. 08/02/18. Repairs to the splash pad at Len Roberts Park are underway as City Parks Department personnel work to repair a broken water pipe that feeds the popular summer feature.
The broken pipe was detected today, and water to the splash pad was shut off to ensure public safety. The feature will remain closed until the repairs are made.
The Parks staff will be digging up the pipe to assess the damage, then tackling repairs to get the splash pad back online. But for the next several days, the feature will remain dry.
Earlier this year, the splash pad use policy was changed from fee-based to free of charge. “We’ve seen so much more use of the splash pad since June,” says Laura Wilson, director of Leisure and Library Services. “It’s great to see kids playing there on hot summer days.”
