Investigation following the February 19 fatal shooting of a 15-year-old Sierra Vista teen suggests that the victim died of a single self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Information gathered by Sierra Vista Police detectives indicate that the victim may have been playing “Russian Roulette” with a stolen firearm.

Two other juveniles witnessed the shooting, which took place in a parked vehicle at the Mountain View Apartment Complex, at 77 El Camino Real. A fourth juvenile, who was not at the scene at the time of the shooting, was charged with theft of the firearm used in the incident and prohibited possession of a firearm.

The circumstances regarding how the deceased came into control of the gun remain under investigation by Sierra Vista Police.
