Task force makes two DUI arrests in Helldorado Days detail

The Southeastern Arizona DUI Task Force made two driving under the influence arrests during a saturation detail conducted in the Tombstone area on Saturday, October 21, due to the Helldorado Days weekend.

The detail was performed by the Sierra Vista Police Department, Tombstone Marshal’s Office, Cochise County Sheriff’s Office, and Willcox Police Department. In addition to the DUI arrests, the detail resulted in the following: 59 stops/contacts, 38 warning/repair orders, one seat belt citation, nine civil speed citations, one aggressive driving citation, one open container arrest, six designated drivers, one misdemeanor warrant arrest, two driving on a suspended driver’s license arrests, three possession of drug paraphernalia arrests, and two possession of marijuana arrests.

One DUI arrest was alcohol related and one was drug related. The blood alcohol content in the alcohol related DUI arrest was 0.128.

With the continuous support from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, the Southeastern Arizona DUI Task Force reminds drivers that if you choose to drive hammered, you will get nailed. Get a designated driver, not a DUI!
