Sierra Vista man dies in motorcycle crash

Sierra Vista, AZ.  09/25/16.  A crash on Avenida Cochise near Copper Sunrise resulted in the death of a 51-year-old Sierra Vista man riding a motorcycle today.

Eastbound Avenida Cochise from Coronado Drive to Oakmont Drive will remain closed into the early evening while the Sierra Vista Police Department conducts an investigation of the incident.

Police received a report of a motorcycle collision near the intersection of Avenida Cochise and Copper Sunrise at 11:55 a.m.  The motorcyclist was found dead at the scene and has been identified as 51-year-old Brian E. Hurdlow.

The crash appeared to be part of a two-vehicle incident according to the report police received. Accident reconstructionists and detectives from the Sierra Vista Police Department’s Special Operations Bureau were called out to investigate the incident between the motorcyclist and the driver of an SUV allegedly involved in the crash. 

Please avoid eastbound Avenida Cochise from Coronado Drive to Oakmont Drive for the next several hours, until law enforcement has cleared the scene.
