Sierra Vista, AZ.  10/25/16.  The Sierra Vista Police Department arrested 50-year-old Sierra Vista man Keith Allen White for second-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence late Monday night.

Officers responded to the 100 block of Golf Links Road at 9:13 p.m. on Monday when a person called in to report a possible murder. Officers met with the caller, who said that White had told them that he killed his friend and roommate, Brian Cook, and hid the body in his bedroom closet.

Officers found White sitting in the residence he shared with Cook. The blinds and windows were open. They could see into the living room and bedroom from the outside and observed signs of significant blood trails leading from the bedroom closet into the living room. They also detected the odor of human decomposition.

The officers commanded White to exit his residence and detained him. They found a heavy black suitcase near the front door. White subsequently told SVPD Special Operations Bureau detectives at the scene that he had become angry and strangled Cook to death during an argument several days prior.

White said he concealed Cook’s body in a suitcase stowed in the bedroom closet. He had been preparing to dispose of the body when Sierra Vista police officers arrived at the scene and intervened. Detectives served a search warrant at the residence to process the crime scene and recover the body.

White is being held in Cochise County Jail. For more information regarding this case, contact SVPD Detective Sgt. Sean Brownson at (520) 452-7500.
