Police arrest Cochise County constable for thefts, fraudulent scheme

Sierra Vista, AZ.  10/21/16.  The Sierra Vista Police Department has arrested Cochise County Constable Scott McManaway for thefts connected to a fraudulent scheme after serving multiple search warrants today.

As part of an investigation into allegations of theft, Sierra Vista police officers and detectives served warrants at McManaway’s personal residence, the Cochise County Constable’s Office, and within the county-owned vehicles McManaway had been using in connection with his elected office. They discovered and seized evidence of multiple thefts from McManaway’s personal residence and at the constable’s office.

McManaway has been charged with three counts of theft and one count of fraudulent schemes and artifices. He is being held in the Cochise County Jail.
