The Sierra Vista Police Department arrested a local man for possession of marijuana for sale and related charges in the early morning hours on Monday, Aug. 27, after conducting a search of his apartment and vehicle.
A search warrant was obtained after SVPD patrol officers smelled a strong odor of marijuana at the Port Royale Apartments, located at 1201 North Colombo Avenue, while conducting a follow up visit for an unrelated case. The officers were able to pinpoint the exact apartment where the smell was coming from and made several failed attempts to make contact with anyone inside.
A vehicle was located in the same area and officers observed items of marijuana and related drug paraphernalia. The vehicle was associated with the apartment in question and was also listed in the search warrant the officers obtained. At about 2:05 a.m. on Monday, the search warrant was executed and the following items were seized as evidence: packaged bags of marijuana, U.S. currency, a scale, plastic baggies, and other related items consistent with the transportation and sale of marijuana.
At about 2:10 a.m., SVPD officers arrested 21-year-old Sierra Vista resident Jacobi Cashier and booked him into Cochise County Jail on the following felony charges: possession of marijuana for sale, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana for transport, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jacobi remains in the Cochise County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
