The Sierra Vista Police Department arrested a 24-year-old Sierra Vista man for sexual conduct with a minor and related charges on Tuesday, May 21, after receiving a report that he was having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old juvenile.
The department received information from a third party on Monday, May 20, indicating that a juvenile was having a sexual relationship with a 24-year-old man, identified as Sierra Vista resident Alexander Leever. Additional information revealed that the relationship had been going on for a few months.
With the assistance of detectives from the department’s Special Operations Bureau, SVPD officers executed a search warrant on Monday, May 20, in the 70 block of West Cargill Place, where Leever resides. Officers discovered several items of evidence in the search.
On Tuesday, May 21, at 3:27 p.m., Leever was taken into custody at his residence and booked into the Cochise County Jail on charges of sexual conduct with a minor, sexual exploitation of a minor, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Leever remains in the Cochise County Jail on a $1,500 bond.
