The Nancy J. Brua Animal Care Center will offer reduced adoption fees for less-adoptable pets throughout the month of September.
From Sept. 1 through Sept. 30, dogs and cats of certain breeds, colors, ages, and circumstances will be available for adoption at a $25 discount. That brings the fee down to $50 for qualifying dogs and $25 for eligible cats. The adoption fees include sterilization, the first set of vaccinations, a complete physical exam, a City pet license, and a microchip implant.
“Just because an animal is labeled as ‘less-adoptable’ it doesn’t mean they won’t make a wonderful addition to the right home,” Sierra Vista Animal Control Supervisor Arleen Garcia says. “We currently have a wide variety of dogs and cats available for adoption, so it’s a great time to stop by and see if your new furry family member is waiting to meet you!”
Animals that qualify for the less-adoptable pet special include pit bulls, black cats, long-time shelter residents, older dogs or cats, and animals with special needs or behaviors. For more information, contact the Nancy J. Brua Animal Care Center at (520) 458-4151.
