Fourth of July closures, service changes

Adam Curtis Public Affairs Press Releases

Most City facilities will be closed on Wednesday, July 4, in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

The Cove will only be open for Open Swim from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4. Vista Transit service will be unavailable that day.

There will be no special pickups or green waste pickups available on Wednesday, July 4, but the refuse pickup schedule is otherwise unaffected. Under the new schedule taking effect July 1, residents will receive their typical Monday or Tuesday trash pickup and then, instead of a recycling pickup, they will get an additional trash pickup on their Thursday or Friday pickup day. The following week, starting July 9, will be a recycling week, with trash pickups taking place on Monday and Tuesday and recycling pickups occurring on Thursday and Friday.

A variety of events and entertainment will take place throughout the day in Veterans Memorial Park and a fireworks display will be conducted near the Domingo Paiz and Stone Fields as part of the annual Fourth of July Celebration organized by the Sierra Vista Rotary Club. To learn more, click here.
