Expect traffic delays at Buffalo Soldier Trail and SR90/Hatfield

Adam Curtis Public Affairs Press Releases

The Sierra Vista Public Works Department would like to alert drivers to potential intermittent delays at the intersection of Buffalo Soldier Trail and State Route 90/Hatfield Street on January 23 and 24.

The Arizona Department of Transportation is installing a new signal at the intersection, which will result in closures of up to 15 minutes between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. on both Tuesday, January 23 and Wednesday, January 24. Sierra Vista Police officers will be on site to direct traffic as needed.

“Motorists should allow extra travel time to allow for delays in the construction area,” says Sierra Vista senior civil engineer Irene Zuniga. “Travel through the work zone is also at a reduced rate of speed, and we ask drivers to proceed with caution and remain alert for on-the-ground personnel.”
