Guided Nature Walk
March 9, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am
An event every week that begins at 9:00am on Thursday, repeating until October 26, 2017
Visitors from all over the world come to see the more than 170 species of birds found in the preserve and surrounding national forest at Ramsey Canyon Preserve. Southwestern specialties such as painted redstarts and magnificent hummingbirds share the canyon with many other animals, including black bears, Chiricahua leopard frogs, and dozens of species of butterflies. The canyon is also home to more than 400 species of plants, from tiny mosses to towering firs.
Please note: Parking at the preserve is limited and if full, visitors may be temporarily turned away. There is no parking along the road and no reservations are taken. For those hiking up the canyon trails, hikers must return to the parking lot by closing: 5 p.m. summer hours/4 p.m. winter hours. Gates are locked promptly upon closing.
$6 per person. Conservancy members and Cochise County residents, $3 per person. Children under 16, free.
