If you attend one business networking meeting a month, make it Good Morning Sierra Vista! The monthly program, coordinated by the Sierra Vista Area Chamber of Commerce, is continually sponsored by the City of Sierra Vista and Cochise College. The November spotlight sponsor is Sun Corridor, and Steve Eggen, Sun Corridor’s project manager, is the keynote speaker.
Mr. Eggen has served as vice president and chief financial officer for Hughes Corporation (1992-1997), staying on after Raytheon Missile Systems acquired Hughes, staying in the same role from 1997 until his retirement in 2012. Prior to his stint with Raytheon/Hughes, Stev
e was vice president and controller for General Dynamics Corporation in Pomona, California, where he developed and executed the strategies to consolidate two separate divisions. Other experience under his belt include all aspects of finance, forecasting and reporting, and business consolidation–all within the tech industry. Steve holds a B.S. Economics and an MBA, both from from California State Polytechnic University in Pomona. He has consulted with Sun Corridor on a variety of special projects since 2013.
Sun Corridor was recently selected as the project manager for the Department of Defense Office of Economic Adjustment gran, which was awarded to the City of Sierra Vista. This $720,000 grant will help diversify the local economy and capitalize on the strengths that already exist in technology and cyber operations.
Come and hear Steve’s take on Sierra Vista’s future and how Sun Corridor will help develop within the technology pocket, along with other business and community leaders, including Fort Huachuca, Cochise County, and the Chamber.
