Public Comments

The City Council is considering a 15% residential refuse rate increase and an ordinance change to allow private residential recycling collection. The public is also invited to comment on these proposed code amendments: zoning change affecting schools, subdivision platting procedure and requirements, and public improvement – general regulations. Fry Improvement Project

Refuse rate increase considered

Refuse fee and rate changes take effect on March 1. The City is also allowing private haulers to offer curbside recycling service in Sierra Vista and will close its recycling drop-off facility on March 1. Learn more.

Wastewater Supervisor Position

The City’s of Sierra Vista is recruiting a full-time Wastewater Supervisor. This position will oversee the City’s state-of-the-art municipal wastewater treatment facility and ensure its smooth operation. Learn more about the position and apply online.

Sierra Vista's Code of Ordinances is available in a searchable database from American Legal Publishing Corporation. The City Development Code is integrated as Chapter 151.

The City has a variety of surplus items like furniture, supplies, equipment, and even vehicles available for sale on our public auction site.

The City is evaluating development fees. A public hearing on the Land Use Assumptions and Infrastructure Improvements Plan will be held at the City Council meeting on Thursday, March 12, at 5 p.m.
