A Growing Medical Infrastructure

In April 2015, RegionalCare Hospital Partners opened its new, $100 million, 175,000 square-foot, 100-bed hospital in Sierra Vista. Canyon Vista Medical Center replaces the Sierra Vista Regional Health Center, this new hospital is a level 3 Trauma Center that offers additional beds, services, and doctors. Committed to the community, Canyon Vista is actively recruiting many specialists that can be difficult to find outside metropolitan areas.  The regional hub of the healthcare industry, Canyon Vista serves people from Douglas, Benson, Tombstone, Bisbee, and outlying areas.  For a community that many military veterans and retirees have come to call home, this offers peace of mind and an incentive to stay.

Cochise College offers a quality nursing program that provides a skilled workforce in the medical field. The facility is located in the former Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center building, which was donated to the College when the new hospital construction was completed.  The College established a true-to-life medical education center, offering students a choice in the healthcare field, including:

  • Emergency Medical Technician
  • Exercise Sciences, Health and Physical
  • Medical Assistant
  • Nursing
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
  • Paramedicine
  • Respiratory Therapy
