After delay, 7th Street striping removal starts Monday

Adam Curtis Public Affairs Press Releases

Crews are expected to begin removing old road surface markings that are visible along 7th Street on Monday, June 18, following a one-week delay due to equipment failure. Work will continue for about four to five days.

The markings are old stripes and dashed lines for traffic lanes that have started showing up through the asphalt seal on 7th Street. They still appear much more faded than the current markings directing motorists, which were applied after the asphalt seal was completed several years ago. The Public Works Department has contracted KE&G Construction to conduct the work, which will begin at Buffalo Soldier Trail and continue north to the State Route 90 Bypass.

At times, traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction, resulting in delays. When possible, drivers are urged to use an alternate route. If traveling through this area, please use additional caution and obey all traffic control signs. The work schedule is subject to change due to the process involved in removing the markings, weather conditions, and availability of material.
